MANAGEMENT TEAM OF OGFZA
UMANA OKON UMANA: Umana is the Managing Director/CEO of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA). He is a former secretary to Akwa Ibom State Government; former commissioner for finance in the state and former permanent secretary in charge of budget in the state. Umana earned a degree in Economics from the University of Calabar and an MBA in Finance from the University of Port Harcourt. He honed up his leadership capacity many years ago with executive leadership training at the London Business School; RIPA International, London and the Columbia Graduate School of Business in New York.
Umana was chairman of the Steering Committee of the Akwa Ibom State/World Bank Community-based Urban Development Project. He also served as chairman of the State Programme Co-ordinating Committee (SPCC) of the UNDP from 1997 – 2003.
He is a member Nigerian Economic Society and a Fellow of the Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
ADEKUNLE AJAYI (FCA, FCTI): Ajayi is HOD, Operations and Technical Department. He holds an HND from The Polytechnic, Ibadan and an MBA in Management from Rivers State University of Science & Technology, Port-Harcourt. He became a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 1995 and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants of Nigeria in 2007. Ajayi became a chartered tax professional in 2003 and Fellow, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria in 2011. He worked at various times with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Sunray Publications Limited, Akintola Williams, AdetonaIsichei & Co, a firm of Chartered Accountants; SJA & CO., a firm of Chartered Accountants; and Prodeco Nigeria Limited. He joined the services of OGFZA in 2001.
ABDULWASIU SULE (Esq.): Sule is head of department (HOD), Legal Services, and secretary to OGFZA. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Maiduguri and graduated from the Nigerian Law School and was called to bar in 1991. He was in private practice from 1991-2001 before joining OGFZA in 2001 as a Legal Adviser/Officer. He was subsequently appointed HOD Legal Department/Board Secretariat. He became acting Managing Director of the Authority on 7 June 2016, and served in that capacity until the appointment of the current Managing Director in September 2016. Sule is a member of many professional associations, including Chartered Institute of Strategic Management, Chartered Institute of Arbitration (UK) Nigeria chapter and Nigerian Institute of Management.
CHIKA O. MADUEKWE: Maduekwe is HOD in charge of Administration. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration (Human Resources Management) from the University of Lagos and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He has over 25 years working experience spanning the Private and Public sectors. He joined the staff of OGFZA in 2002, and was at various times Special Assistant to Managing Director/CEO; Head of Training Unit and of Operations Department. Maduekwe is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria.
ALENJU NGOFA: Ngofa is HOD, Administration. He holds a Post graduate Diploma in Business Studies from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology. He also holds a BSc in Sociology and a Diploma in Personnel Management/Industrial Relations from University of Port Harcourt. At different times in OGFZA, Ngofa had served as HOD, Planning Research & Statistic (PSR), Ag. HOD,Technical Services Department; Unit Head, Monitoring and Evaluation; Head, Lagos Regional Office; Unit Head, Human Resources; and Unit Head, Operations. He had worked as the defunct National fertiliser Company of Nigeria Limited (NAFCON).
ADAMU MAMMAN KONTAGORA is HOD, Trade and Investment. He is a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He had worked in the public service for six before joining the staff of OGFZA. He has attended and presented papers in many local and International conferences, Exhibitions and Trade and Investments seminars among which are:

Kontagora was part of the effort that brought the international conference on PRACTICAL LOCAL CONTENT by the UK group, CWC, to Onne, Rivers State, in 2010.
SIMON OVBE AKPADAKA: Akpadaka is HOD, Finance and Accounts. He holds a Master’s degree in International Finance and Accounts from University of Liverpool, UK. He also holds an HND in Accountancy from the Lagos State Polytechnic. He is a chartered accountant (ACA). Akpadaka had worked as accountant at different times at Betaview Systems Limited, Smart Mark Limited and Tomez Nigeria Limited before joining OGFZA as Assistant Manager, Finance. He was once the head of the Lagos Regional Office. He was also the pioneer manager, internal audit unit, Warri Free Zone.
MONDAY GBENEKORI: Gbenekori is Head of Procurement Unit. He holds a B.Sc in Marketing and an MBA in Management, both from the Rivers State University of Science & Technology, Port Harcourt. He has attended several local and International conferences, seminars and trainings. He had served as Personal Assistant and Technical Assistant to the MD/CEO at different times during his career in OGFZA.
